Take it Outside!

Growing up in Ohio, outdoor living usually meant you were off camping in the woods somewhere....

Living in Long Beach, I've learned the extent of outdoor living, and I can never go back! Having a seemingly endless supply of sunny days allows us to do more than just go outside and play. We dine, we cook, we work out... we live. 

This infographic from the California Association of Realtors shows just how important it is to Californians to be able to extend their home living space to the outdoors.

Some things may require major renovation, such as walls that literally open the the outside.

I can literally feel the breeze imagining I'm writing this where she's sitting! 

But there are some budget-friendly options, too! The availability of outdoor seating suites in every price range makes it easy to set up a great outdoor living room.

One of the first things we bought when we purchased our first home in 2011 was a kit to assemble a picnic table and a gallon of "as-is" paint at the hardware store. All together we spent less than $100, but we have a great space for our family to play games, have meals, do homework and spend time in our beautiful California weather.
