Falling Head Over Heels

Here in Long Beach we've experienced a bit of a pesky market for would-be home buyers. Many home buyers feel discouraged by the lack of homes available, and the bidding wars that ensue. One young couple said they stopped even putting their offers on homes they were interested in, because they felt they'd just be outbid anyway.

Well, folks good news may be on the horizon. According to MarketWatch, fall is usually the best time of year to buy what they refer to as a "starter home". Now starter home may be an inadequate term in Southern California. We have a unique market, unique buyers and many options for buyers who are just starting out. 

For one thing, don't forget how much assistance is out there for buyers - and not just those buying their first home. (By the way, even "first time homebuyer" is mis-leading... you're considered to be one of these lucky few as long as you've not purchased in the prior three years.)

As far as available homes on the market, historical data shows a huge jump in October. Hey, that's just around the corner!
